Getting your first reviews from real clients
The problem
You may have spent years building up good reviews on another platform. They are hard won, and they are a big part of why new clients trust you.
But those reviews live on that platform, not with you. They keep you tied to its system, and to its fees, because leaving means starting again.
Start with the clients who already love you
The best way to start is with the friends and clients who are already happy with how you look after their dogs.
- Send them your booking link. Next time they need you, they can book with you directly.
- Look after their dog as you always do. The booking appears in your calendar and your Requests tab.
- Ask for a review. Once the stay or walk is over, press Request a review on the booking. A message with a review link is ready for you to send. Your client signs in, or creates a free account, and writes their review.
Reviews that build your own business
Your reviews show on your own DoggyDesk profile, so anyone you send your booking link to can read them.
Your profile has also been built so that it, and your reviews with it, can appear on Google and other search engines. That part is your choice: you decide whether your profile is public. See should your profile be on Google?
Questions and answers
Can I copy my reviews from another platform?
No. A review on The DoggyDesk can only be written by a client who has booked with you here, from their own account, after the stay or walk.
How do I ask a client for a review?
Once a booking is over, press Request a review on it and send the ready-made message. Your client signs in, or creates a free account, and writes their review.
Will my reviews appear on Google?
Only if you choose to make your profile public. Either way, your reviews show on your profile for anyone you send your booking link to.
