Setting up group walks and solo walks

A dog walking app booking calendar on a tablet, with morning, midday and afternoon walk slots for each day

Three walk slots a day

Your walking calendar splits each day into three slots:

  • Morning: 7:30am to 12pm
  • Midday: 12 to 3pm
  • Afternoon: 3 to 7:30pm

Open the slots you want to work on the Calendar tab, under Walker. Green is public, blue is private and grey is unavailable.

Solo walks, group walks, or both

In your profile (Profile tab, then Edit Profile, then Dog Walking details), choose your Walk type:

  • Solo walks: one dog at a time.
  • Group walks: more than one dog in a slot.

Then set Max dogs per walking slot. When a slot is full, it turns grey for dog owners, so nobody can pick it.

You decide

  • A request does not hold a place. Nothing is booked until you accept, and you have up to 72 hours to reply.
  • Happy to give up a group slot for a solo walk? Accept. Want to keep it for a group? Decline, or give the owner a call first.
  • Owners can never pick a slot that is already full. If one fills while they are choosing, they are told: “One of the walks you picked has just filled up.”

Time windows give you flexibility

Each slot is a window, not a fixed time. When they book, the owner can pick a rough time within it, for example in the Morning: 7:30 to 9am, 9 to 10:30am, 10:30am to 12pm, or no preference. You see their choices and plan your route around them, and you agree the exact time together.

Questions and answers

Does a solo walk request block my slot?

No. A request does not hold a place. Only a solo walk you have accepted fills the slot.

Can dog owners book a slot that is full?

No. A full slot shows grey to dog owners and cannot be picked.

Do dog owners choose an exact time?

They pick a rough time within the slot when they book. You agree the exact time with them.
